Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Scheddin didn’t love his smile growing up, he felt improving his teeth would boost his confidence. Not only did his new smile change how others saw him, it changed how he saw himself. This transformation was so impactful, it shifted the trajectory of his life. He decided he would commit his entire career to helping others transform their smiles too.
Dr. Rob is not only a doctor he is a patient, he relates to the individuals he helps and understands them better than anyone. He is the dentist he is today because of where he came from. Our patients continue to put emphasis on not only his skill but his kindness. This is a reflection of his roots and the why behind it all.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Scheddin completed his undergraduate Biological Sciences degree at Rutgers University. He then completed his Master of Science at Drexel University College of Medicine, and later his Doctor of Dental Medicine at Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Since then, he’s spent his time sharpening his skill set and continuing to expand his education to stand at the forefront of dentistry.
Dr. Scheddin has earned well over 400 continuing education credits, which includes completing an intensive one-year advanced training at NYU in full mouth rehabilitation. This training focused on treating advanced cases that encompass the entire mouth, along with a focus in aesthetics. Over the years, he’s worked alongside the highest-skilled dental mentors in the industry on Fifth Avenue, New York City, and throughout New Jersey. He has also earned several memberships in advanced studies, including a fellowship with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, the American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics, and the International Academy for Dental Facial Aesthetics. Dr. Scheddin continues to research, attend specialized training courses and learn technique advancements, as he believes you should never stop sharpening your craft.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Scheddin enjoys spending time at home with his wife, Marcella, son, Niccolo, and their King Charles Cavaliers, Theodore and Cinnamon. Outside of the office, he loves weightlifting and snowboarding, and he’s an avid saltwater aquarium hobbyist. (Make sure to ask him to see photos of his 100 gallon reef aquarium at your next visit!) He enjoys traveling, especially to the mountains, and he always surrounds himself with family and friends. A quote he lives his life by is, “All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us” from J.R.R. Tolkien.
