Intraoral Cameras

It goes without saying that you can’t normally take a close look inside of your own mouth. As such, an intraoral camera allows us to show you exactly what we see when we’re examining your smile! We’ll take pictures of your mouth and all its structures, then pull them up on a nearby computer screen for easy viewing. The images can be enhanced as needed so that we can show you the areas where tooth decay and gum disease are starting to take hold.
3D Cone Beam Imaging

Traditional X-rays may not provide all the information needed for implant placement and other extensive procedures. Instead, 3D cone beam imaging can be employed to create a more complete model of your mouth. A cone-shaped X-ray beam circles your head, takes several images, and uses them to create a three-dimensional image that tells us about the locations of nerve paths, dental structures, and anything else that we’ll have to account for during the procedure.
TRIOS® Digital Impressions

You might be expecting us to place some putty in your mouth when the time comes to take impressions, but instead, we’ll simply use our state-of-the-art TRIOS system. A wand-like device is placed in your mouth and creates a precise three-dimensional image of your teeth and gums. This image will be sent to a lab so that a dental restoration can be designed based on your specific requirements. The accuracy of the TRIOS system helps ensure that we won’t have to retake the impressions later.
Laser Dentistry

A soft tissue dental laser is specifically used for treatments involving the gums or other soft tissues inside of the mouth. It’s very easy to aim and control the laser so that only a small amount of tissue is targeted, and the entire procedure is largely painless compared to what you’d normally experience with traditional dental instruments. Lasers also help minimize bleeding at the end of the procedure and help speed up the recovery process afterward.
Laser dental treatments include eliminating tooth sensitivity and providing an immediate cure for cold/canker sores. During certain periodontal treatments, Dr. Scheddin may opt to use a dental laser. By using this technology, our staff performs procedures more effectively and painlessly. Laser dentistry can also provide painless reshaping of the gum line for a more beautiful smile. During many periodontal treatments, Dr. Scheddin may opt to use a dental laser. By using this technology, our staff can perform procedures more effectively and with a higher level of control of harmful bacteria.
High-End Digital Photography

Smiles can undergo pretty dramatic transformations, but when it’s your own smile that’s being worked on, there isn’t always an easy way of measuring your individual progress. Here at our practice, Dr. Scheddin wants his patients to be able to clearly see every step of their dental health journey. That’s why we utilize digital photography as an integral part of each case. These high-quality digital images play an instrumental role in treatment planning, as well as patient education and overall satisfaction!
